Among the youngest top-ranking female Partners at St. James's Place Singapore today, Valerie advises so many families and individuals at various stages of their wealth journeys. To date, this mother of three is entrusted with much of her client's financial assets under her care.
While Valerie cut her teeth in insurance, having spent a decade at Prudential, the wealth management specialist has extended her capabilities and experience from protection planning to wealth accumulation, growth and distribution for individuals as well as corporate clients.
About
Valerie holds a special place in her heart for women and children. Having grown up in a single-parent household, she has seen first-hand the value of financial literacy in empowering women to take charge of their lives, whatever happens. She credits her mother for teaching her financial independence, integrity and self-reliance early in life. Despite raising Valerie and her sister singlehandedly, her mother made time for charity, often bring bring her daughters along‑‑ occasions when Valerie learned that true wealth is not all about money.
In 2020, Valerie established the Women's Leaders Collective (WLC) to bring strong women together to share their knowledge and support each other. Having been a private tutor to pay for her own tertiary education in her youth, and a teacher at public schools for a stint, Valerie's affinity with children remains strong. She is currently designing a basic literacy programme for young ones, teaching them money smarts through fun and games.
Between upgrading herself with next-level professional qualifications and managing her work and causes, Valerie prioritises quality time with her husband and kids. In her me-time, she loves to watch Hong Kong drama, play the musical instruments and golf.
